ABOUT RUCKUS
Who we are and what we are all about
Ruckus Theatre Company is a new and independent company based in London. We are a majority women and LGBT+ led theatre company and we are passionate about our ability to use our position in the creative industry to advocate for diversity and inclusion in theatre.
Our productions could not vary more from one to the other. So far we have put on a production of Wallace Shawn's 'The Fever', a 90 minute goliath of a monologue where the character comes to realise how her comfortable existence feeds the suffering of those she previously deemed 'below' her. This play was minimalistic in its production and was produced and premiered via zoom due to the pandemic. In contrast our second production took on William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'. This production is eclectic, vibrant and dark, and was performed in person in London this December! We never want to get stuck in a rut because theatre is only as alive and exciting as you make it!
The actors we have been able to work with so far have been a joy and we have a fantastic crew behind us who are the backbone of our company. We are still finding our feet in these unprecidented times but if the last few months are anything to go by, you have so much to get excited for from us in the future.
